Unique, one of a kind pottery pieces by Ruth Lampi.

You’re not like anyone else, why should your tableware be? Why should everything have to fit in when it can stand out? These pieces have relationships, not clones. They're all made by hand. The pieces shown below are examples of recent work.  To commission similar pieces or custom work, please email Ruth at ruth@thefivewits.net.

All the pottery is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.

These large capacity bowls can fit a whole can of soup or pack of ramen.

The pieces I use most at home are large bowls with handles.  They're perfect for anything from oatmeal to ice cream.

I like to make large mugs with sturdy handles.  When the mug is hot, you can get a firm grip on the handle, and if you want to warm your hands, you can fit a whole hand inside the handle to cradle your coffee.

I wondered what would happen if I put a marble on the freshly glazed plate before it went in to the kiln.  This is what happens.  I call it marble melt ware.

This a family of aquatic and mossy blue and green glazes I've layered over matte whites.

I make a number of different styles of goblets.  This one in particular was made for a wedding.

These are a family of blue glazes I often work with, and another example of melting marbles.

These delightfully multicolored and multifaceted pieces are made by layering two very unpredictable glazes called "Magic" and "Jewelry".  They come out slightly different every time, but always somewhere in the range pictured, with ambers, blues and even red and lavender auroras.

This family of warm coppery glazes over matte whites are perhaps my favorite to work in.
